This past Sunday I hosted my third annual Fiber Adventure Trip to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival
in Rhinebeck, NY. Five fellow knitters joined me, and we had a blast! Here are the highlights of our trip!

We saw some really awesome, unique sweaters:
I did a double-take when I saw the "Embrace Octopus Sweater"
by Maia E. Sirnes, which has tentacles on the front and the back, as well as down one sleeve. What a very unique design! Ruth did a beautiful job making her sweater!
Esther designed her own "Wonder Woman"
sweater. I think she looks ready to fight any powers of darkness!
Here's an exclusive sneak peek of a new design by my good friend and fellow designer, Lars Rains, modeling his "Midnight Sun." This lovely lopi sweater will be published soon, so make sure you sign up for his email list
to find out as soon as it's released!
We also saw some BEAUTIFUL shawls:
On the left is Anna Dalvi modelling her own design, Mystic Vortex
, made in Fiber Optics gradient yarn. Stunning!
On the right is a traditional Estonian Lace shawl. This one is Crown Prince Square Shawl
by Nancy Bush.
And here are some wraps seen at booths that are beautiful and fairly easy to make:
From left to right: Olilia by Hanna Maciejewska
, in Flying Goat "Cirrus"; Cactus Flower by Romi Hill
; Reyna by Noora Laivola
in Flying Goat Zephyrette
; Versicolor Cowl by Diane Martini
And, of course, we saw sheep and goats and bunnies and alpacas and llamas!
On the right is a rare Argentine Llama. I've never seen a llama with polka dots before!
It was a beautiful day in the countryside, and I was so happy that I could share this experience with my group!
